GOLF.com: Famous Gingersnap Cookies
While there’s never a bad time for a well-made gingersnap cookie, autumn just seems to call out a little louder for those savory, sweet, baking spice flavors. Coincidentally, the fall is when Florida’s Mountain Lake reopens following a 26-week hiatus during late spring and summer, and the historic club — well known for its enviable Seth Raynor-designed course — is almost as famous for its gingersnaps. Seriously, the pro shop even sells golf belts embroidered with a whimsical woven likenesses of those cookies.

A TOUR Player’s “Underrated” Golf Course-Mountain Lake
PGA TOUR player Eric Cole feels fortunate that over the last decade or so, he’s had the chance to tee it up at least a handful of times at Mountain Lake, a classic Seth Raynor design that he says, “doesn’t get a whole lot of notoriety outside of super-golf-knowledgeable people.” With classic architectural features, such as a redan hole, and plenty of natural beauty, the course—in Cole’s opinion—flies too far under the radar.

Outfitted with a charming gazebo and a handful of tables sporting green-and-white-striped umbrellas that resemble Starlight Mints, the comfort station at Mountain Lake feels like it was pulled straight from the 1960s. Named after a loyal employee who worked at the club for more than 40 years, Marion’s is casual with a menu teeming with comfort food.

Brittany Lincicome & Leta Lindley Win 2025 Citrus Bowl
The Citrus Bowl is an annual women’s pro-am golf tournament that celebrates women’s golf by pairing Mountain Lake members, guests, and professionals for a day of competition and camaraderie. The 2025 Champions include 8-time LPGA Tour Winner Brittany Lincicome (Junior Professional Division) and LPGA Tour Winner and reigning USGA Senior Women’s Open Champion Leta Lindley (Senior Professional Division). The international field of professionals included LPGA Tour Winners, USGA Champions, Solheim Cup Members, and an Olympian.
